This beer is only brewed for the Oktoberfest. It has a lightly toasty character and a clean\, crisp\, and well-attenuated finish\, often with hints of floral or herbal hops. \nRadeberger Gruppe Radeberger Pilsner \nPilsner – German ⁄ 4.8% ABV ⁄ 33 IBU ⁄ Frankfurt am Main\, Hessen ⁄\nCrowned the official drink by King Friedrich August III of Saxony\, Radeberger\, a pilsner style beer brewed near Dresden\, is characterized by its dazzling and refreshing taste and has long been enjoyed by German nobility. \nRadeberger Gruppe Clausthaler IPA \nNon-Alcoholic – IPA ⁄ 0.5% ABV ⁄ Frankfurt am Main\, Hessen\nThe new dry hopped Clausthaler IPA is the latest addition in the long tradition of great tasting brews from Clausthaler – The German pioneer of non-alcoholic beers. Cascade Hops and the dry-hopping brewing method make Clausthaler IPA a crisp full bodied brew with straightforward hoppy character. The result: A deep golden\, unfiltered masterpiece – The German way of IPA. \nDELIRIUM \nDelirium – Huyghe Delirium Tremens \nBelgian Strong Golden Ale ⁄ 8.5% ABV ⁄ 24 IBU ⁄ Melle\, Vlaams Gewest\nThe allusion to pink elephants and the choice of names is not due to chance. With a particular character\, the unique taste results from triple fermentation and the use of three different yeast strains. Some naturally occurring sediment is normal and expected. \nThe Virginia Beer Co. (VBC) Prost! \nAltbier – Traditional ⁄ 5% ABV ⁄ Williamsburg\, VA\nThis German-style Altbier is malty\, traditional\, & autumnal. Our recipe is a nod to the Rhineland roots of the style: a top-fermented\, copper-coloured “Oktoberfest Ale”. Warming hints of dark chocolate & freshly browned bread blend with spicy aromas meant to inspire the feeling of the fall biergarten season. Prost! \nWe will also be serving samples of all our regular draft beers from Tysons Biergarten and RollBär \nHistory of Oktoberfest: \nOktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival. Held annually in Munich\, Bavaria\, Germany\, it is a folk festival running from mid or late September into October (this year it officially starts in Munich on September 21st)\, with more than 6 million people from around the world in attendance every year. Locally\, it is often called the Wiesn\, after the colloquial name for the fairgrounds (Theresienwiese). Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture\, having been held since 1810. \nKronprinz (Crown Prince) Ludwig (1786-1868)\, later King Ludwig I (reign: 1825-1848)\, married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on October 12\, 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the royal event. The fields were named Theresienwiese (“Theresa’s Meadow”) in honour of the Crown Princess\, and have kept that name ever since\, although the locals have since abbreviated the name simply to the “Wiesn”. Horse races\, in the tradition of the 15th century Scharlachrennen (Scarlet Race at Karlstor)\, were held on October 17 to honor the newlyweds.
